Will Murtonen

Shop Foreman

"Ever since a kid I have enjoyed making things and I still do. I just moved from Lego to wood!"
Will began his career with Oak Hills in 2004. He started as an assembler while going to school to become a cabinet maker. In 2010, Will and his wife moved to Ottawa where he worked for LTR Industries and learned in more detail the operation of the CNC machine.  In 2013, he and his wife felt called back to the Island, prompting a move to Nanaimo where he worked for Saywell Contracting as a junior superintendent.  During his time there he went to Rwanda for 3 weeks where he built cabinets for a health clinic.  In 2016 he returned to Oak Hills where he now works as our shop foreman.  Will also enjoys curling in his spare time and is the skip of his local curling team.
