Herb’s interest in carpentry was inspired at a young age while watching his father, a journeyman-carpenter and skilled craftsman, at work. Herb began learning his trade in 1970, and by 1978, he had established his own business, Oak Hills Woodcraft. In the early years of the company, Herb explored various aspects of the carpentry trade. He discovered that he enjoyed doing detail and custom work, and so began specializing in custom cabinetry and custom built-in furniture. Herb has now been designing and making cabinets for homes and commercial businesses for over 41 years. He enjoys learning about the constantly changing materials and technology that can offer fresh and innovative options to his customers. Meeting new clients and helping them create their dream kitchens is what makes business so rewarding to him. When Herb is not at work, you can find him on his boat fishing and exploring the Island, or out having fun with his family and grandchildren.
